Wow! What an amazingly busy, fun, stressful, challenging, tiring but fantastic few months I’ve had working as a Committee member on this year’s Isle of Man Film Festival!
As a Film Festival Committee Member, an ambitious project was laid before us by the organisers, as this was the first year for International short film entries and the events were to step up a level in line with the festival growing into a new international marketplace.
My role involved assisting with securing sponsorships, event organisation, implementation and management, PR through competitions and media updates across both online and offline media and growing and establishing industry connections, press liaison and anything else that required doing on a day by day basis!
Thankfully I managed to be successful in my role and I’m particularly happy that traffic was increased considerably to Isle of Man Film Festival Facebook page and twitter followers increased, due in part to my updates on them and the rest of the team and even the celebrities and shortlisted filmmakers really supporting us prior to, during and even following the festival!
From the talented Musician Davy Knowles to Broadcaster Mark Kermode & his band the fabulous Dodge Brothers, plus the award winning Director Amma Asante attending the events I cannot even say which night was my favourite, they all just made me so proud to be part of the Festival Team and thankful to them for letting me share the experience with them.
